Some members have formed smaller meeting groups of their own to discuss more specialized topics.
The club has organized outings to take photographs, according to member interests. We've had outings to:
The club organizes 2-3 print exhibits during the course of a year. We have arrangements with both the Senior Center and the Orcas Center for month-long exhibits, although the date of each exhibit changes from year to year. In 2009, the club held month-long exhibits at the Senior Center in january and February, and one exhibit at the Orcas Center in September.
We've also made arrangements with the Orcas Public Library to use their community meeting room as a space for informal photo displays rotated among club members. 1- or 2-man shows will run for 3- to 4-weeks and availability of the wall space will be subject to the needs of the library or other community groups. Rick Steinhardt is the coordinator for this display space.
