Orcas Island Camera Club (OICC) is an active club for photographers on Orcas Island.
The Orcas Island Camera Club is a friendly local group of creative photographers who live on Orcas Island in Northwest Washington. The members cover all levels of experience, from absolute novice to consummate professional. The club is dedicated to providing an open forum for sharing images, ideas, knowledge, techniques and the joy of taking photographs. Many of our meetings have a photographic theme so members can compare their interpretations of the theme. We own a high definition digital projector. Members are invited to bring prints, slides, or digital images to meetings to share with others. We also sponsor local photography workshops and field trips hosted by our own photographers and have a “buddy system” where more experienced photographers can help those who are new to different aspects of photography.
Our club meets monthly on the first Tuesday of each month (unless it conflicts with a holiday). We meet at the Lundeen Room in the Orcas Island Senior Center, Eastsound WA 98245, starting at 7PM. Meetings usually start with a 30-minute social chat and print viewing session, followed by speakers, sharing images and techniques. The meetings are open to all. No membership required. We invite you to attend one of our meetings and learn more about what’s happening photographically on Orcas Island! Get in touch if you are interested.
There is also a small discussion group meeting held at the home of a camera club member each Tuesday from 10:00 to 11:30 a.m. Contact Rick Steinhardt for more information on that meeting.
